In addition to showing available location information, trueHorizon uses your current altitude to calculate the distance to the true horizon - the point where the sky intersects the earth. The calculated value represents the distance you would travel in a straight line to reach that intersection. Your perception of the horizon, known as the visible horizon, may be significantly closer than the value calculated because of obstructions such as buildings, trees, or mountains.
